This is too much optimism

There was the annual Military Mass today, when all the seniors, in cadet uniforms, stand in piety throughout the almost-two-hour-long mass. Next year, we’d suffer the same thing.

Yesterday, our moderator kind of scolded us for neglecting to even try and make an entry at the poster-making contest. And as the competition-driven, passionate teacher he was, he was able to motivate and force us to make a poster for our class at the last minute. We started making the poster during lunch time and after classes were dismissed, that’s an hour and a half in total. So yes, we considered it slipshod. But we were happy, as it was better than nothing. And to think we only did it at the last second.

Anyway, what’s my point? During the Military Mass, they announced the winners of the poster-making contest. It was totally out of our expectations that we would even get third place. But what do you know, t was announced, “3rd placer is the class of 3-O!” We all laughed hysterically. It was so funny. Our slipshod entry actually got 3rd place out of 15 entries (one per class)! Nice.

So anyway, the class officers and the parent officers had a meeting today at school after classes. The parent officer were optimistic and enthusiastic at making daunting, ground-breaking, and wonderful plans for our class. I can’t help but think that they are… well, not aware of the real situations are in class. If they just know every single one of us in class, they wouldn’t be too optimistic at all. But anyway, good luck. Let’s hope and do the best we can at implementing these wonderful plans.
