Kinetic fair

I’ve been sleeping early these past few days in hopes of waking up early to be better in mood to do my chores. Out of the three nights I slept early, I succeeded at waking up at 2 in the morning two times. So, I should practice more.

Anyway, today is our alternative class day in school when we could choose our classes for the day among hundreds of available ones. It’s for two periods only though. I chose to go to Basic Acting class for first period and Graphics and Webdesign for second period. Oh well. But I’m still going to stay in school till six in the afternoon because I have to practice playing my violin with a band in section N who has invited me to play with them the song Tattooed on my Mind at our school fair.

Speaking of which, I’m inviting all those who can to go to our high school fair starting tomorrow afternoon till the end of Saturday! It’ll be fun! Tell me if you want to go. There’ll be concerts, an acoustic night, an Amazing Race (Damn it, nobody in class wanted to join and make a team, so I won’t be participating), and just as I wanted to see them, Ring 0 and Ring 2 will be shown!! And of course, there are the usual booths and rides. Plus a lot lot more.

TD exposure trip

We had our TD Tutoring exposure trip yesterday. TD will be our fourth-year Socio-Eco-Ethics course. We’re supposed to tutor some public school kids every week for the course of the entire year. So there, we tried it out today.

We rode hired jeepneys to some public elementary school in Marikina. My classmates ticked me off a little. For most of them, it was one of if not the first time they would ride a jeepney (to think the jeepney is a hired one lang). And most of my classmates were all ecstatic and hyper. It was sort of pathetic, but hey, I’d be as pathetic as they were if it was the first time I’d be riding a jeepney! So don’t get me wrong. What I really found extremely annoying was that my classmates, being as hyper as they were, were jeering rude insults at the people in the sidewalks. I was very annoyed. It was pathetic. Being so ecstatic in a jeepney doesn’t give you the excuse to be rude at ordinary people in the streets. And to think we were all on our school uniforms! How shameful!

Anyway, so there. We tutored our own set of kids for one period. I really enoyed it. It makes me seriously think of my faint liking to enter the teaching profession. I seriously, seriously enjoyed teaching the kids.

The drug scandal proves to grow more severely each hour. Now I belong to the class in the entire high school tagged with the now infamous drug scandal. We wanted our class to be popular, but this is not how we expected ourselves to be noticed as a class. It affects us all.

Oh brother…

I really hope whatever happens will be for the best of my classmates. As of now, I cannot decide what I think will be best for them. I don’t know how to act towards my classmates who are involved. I am baffled. It’s very difficult to rationalize any side of this issue. I don’t want my classmates to get expelled. But then, I’m not on proper ground to justify anything. Does my loyalty to my classmates have to weigh more than my personal judgement? I don’t know. There is this conflict of judgment and loyalty.

I’ll stop talking about it now. I, we as a class, don’t want this issue to grow even more.

Promblems

Yesterday night, we had anticipated mass at UP. As usual, I wasn’t able to concentrate. But this time, all hour, all I was thinking about was the prom and all its hereby sequential problems. After mass, on our way home, my parents asked me something…

“Victor, when is your prom?” my dad queried.

“Why? March 28.”

“Do you have a date?”

“No.”

And then started a long conversation about girls and dates and all that. They asked me to ask out one of my gradeschool friends. Then they asked me to hook up with a girl on one of our soirees. Agh! In the end, they told me, “Victor, if you don’t get yourself a date by this week, we’re going to arrange one for you. Ok?”

Agh! Conspiracy!!

Ok. Well at least now, I won’t feel ashamed to tell my parents that a Gold asked me out to their prom. Then I can find someone from OLGM. My second chance comes on the 31st. We have another soiree with AC. This time I’m deciding without prejudice against them or my classmates.

Conspiracy!!

Unfair prejudices

As it turned out, even though I would have wanted to go to our soiree with Assumption, I couldn’t. I stayed in school working until 11 PM at the publications office. Damn, this is so unfair. The school administration obliged our magazine to come up with a primer for the entire school. And it’s a major primer, as in we had to write 70+ write-ups for different contacts and then layout them all. And most of the raw materials were only handed today so we worked all day after classes. This is so unfair. And we’re not getting paid for this!

So there. I was surprised to see my classmates (who attended our soiree) comment on my previous entry. Some were not the least comforting but that’s okay. Some were very securing. Thanks.

Okay, I have to go back to school now and finish the damn primer the school wants us to come up with.
