Opportunists in tragedy
Politicians hamper relief distribution. President chides Leyte execs for hampering relief efforts. “‘Let us not turn human tragedies into political opportunities,’ the President said in a statement.”
The distribution of relief goods to the victims of landslides in three southern towns in Leyte was delayed when wards of Southern Leyte Representative Aniceto Saludo insisted that the items were distributed by his ally, Mayor Diego Yuboc. Reports said relief goods also bore stickers with Saludo’s name, even if the goods were donated by other groups.
Shame on you, Mr. Saludo!
