Let the Marcos truth prevail?

I spent almost the entire afternoon yesterday at Toff’s house. So there, at one time I was just alone in his room. Suddenly, he barges in and tells me that Imelda Marcos was there in their house! Imelda Marcos came over to visit the Speaker. Even though I heavily dislike the Marcoses, I was starstruck with Imelda. (Whoa, you’re like… the same woman who met with all these world leaders, who has this huge shoe collection, the wife of the late strongman Ferdinand Marcos, the same woman so many Filipinos hate, etc.!) At first I didn’t know what to do, should I do justice to the Filipino people and stab her to death, or should I be just be nice and respectful. She still had this regal and tall image. That woman is still filthy rich, you know! The clothes, the shoes, the perfume and the jewelry she was wearing, they all made a statement (Take away hundreds of millions of dollars from us, and we still have enough to live off like royals). She’s in her 70’s and yet her skin isn’t wrinkled! She was talking with Gina de Venecia when I noticed that she brought along some thick books with her, so I butt in the conversation and asked what they were. I was intrigued by the title, “Let the Marcos truth prevail.” And there she went talking about her husband being the authentic winner of the controversial 1986 presidential elections. She said it was a compilation of hundreds of documents trying to defend the late Ferdinand Marcos in all cases possible.

Bah! (I was wondering why she had to visit the House Speaker). Then I remembered, campaign period begins on Tuesday!

More patience…

Yes. We all want to pass UP. We are all dying to know if we passed or not. It’s funny how this entry, which I wrote right after the UPCAT last August, has become a ‘forum’ for a handful of people who wish to get into the country’s top university (nagdrama na nga ‘yung iba eh). That entry has and continues to attract close to a hundred search hits from Google and Yahoo a day since January.

Yes. We are all impatient! Antagal naman ng results!

Sixteen

So, I turned sixteen yesterday. I’ve always disliked birthday attention and having my birthdays coincide with school days. But then, weirdo ako. Even though I dislike birthday attention, I sincerely appreciate it when people personally approach me to greet me. Thank you!! (Okay, that’s enough. It’s just a few hours till tomorrow and it will all be over, I kept telling myself).

The night before, we went to my mom’s hometown in Bulacan, whose fiesta day always coincides with the Thursday within the week of my birthday.

(Earlier, I was feeling insecure since a lot of my classmates who celebrated their 17th or 18th birthday these past months held gatherings in their houses and bars, etc.)

Kowloon House’s pancit canton, my all-time favorite!

One fine English class

I always feel carefree during English class. Our teacher is one hilarious old lady, and she doesn’t know it. We might not get our tuition’s worth with how she teaches, but I guess, her amusement value is worth it (for me). She never fails to crack me up with her teaching antics. I’m going to miss our moderator once I graduate. Heheh.

It’s happening again

Writing in my online journal feels so different now that I’ve started keeping a notebook. As much as I want to write down here everything I’ve written down in my notebook, I can’t. I just can’t. Haha.

The internet connection has been such a bastard these past few days! I wanted to stay away from the computer for a while to spare me from further annoyance, but then I had nothing else to do.

It was our high school fair yesterday. It was boring for most parts. I went there early but most of the people at the fair were TD kids, and there was nothing much happening so I decided to head for Raf’s house near Ateneo. Bumming with your classmates is much better that walking alone in the fair with a bunch of kids and nothing to do.

manning the booth

By about two hours past noon, my classmates and I went back to the high school. For the rest of the afternoon, all I did was bum and man our booth. My classmates catch random people in the fair, bring them in to me and I make them eat whatever disgusting food they’d randomly pick (blendered balut, spoonful of wasabi, etc.). Else they pay PHP30. People-watching was nice, but it got really boring. It was really depressing watching all these girls and groups of girls who were probably invited and were to meet up with their boy buds. You know, I dislike how the fair turns into some opportunity for some high school Atenean boys to brag their circle of female friends. Hah, maybe I was jut insecure that time.

DoofusBy about six in the evening, after delivering 120 copies of Oedipus Rex program books to the Hayes Hall, I went straight to Dulaang Sibol and watched the jam-packed acoustic concert where my classmates’ band, Doofus, was performing. It was their first public performance so I really wanted to be there to support them. Hehe. Congratulations, Erik, Jona, Jake, and Rychus!! I feel happy for you guys. It was nice to hear a loud applause from the audience, no?

After that, Jake made me meet some of his friends. I feel really flattered, actually because they only got to know me through my website and all that. Nice meeting you guys.
