On my way to school, I noticed that there was a really long queue of Batasan tricycles and tricycle drivers along Commonwealth Avenue. I was told it stretched all the way to QC Circle. I’m not sure if it was some sort of a protest rally or a Ninoy-Aquino tribute (all the tricycles were yellow?).

We didn’t have class in Geography 1 today since the professor is in China. But I had to meet up with my groupmates to talk about our report on Philippine population issues. It looks like I’m going to have to talk with Pro-Life. I didn’t want to do it at first because I’d be approaching them with my bias. And I didn’t get a good impression of their style of arguing after debating with some of their supporters at their online forum a few months back. I ended up being too overwhelmed by the bigotry of it all. There was this guy in the forum who insisted that there is no overpopulation in the Philippines, and that the sex-education program in the Philippines and in other poor countries is some conspiracy by the USA to keep us poor nations from growing economically. He’s the same guy is willing to (pimp) have her daughters marry at 17 because they would be at their sexual peak and at most fertile years. He’d rather have his children marry at their teens and produce children rather than go to college. He’s the same guy who is claiming to be pro-natal and is promoting a zero contraception lifestyle. He is even outraged with the thought of having just 2 children. And he also wants the boyfriend-girlfriend paradigm to be destroyed! Well, so be it for him, I guess. Kanya-kanyang paniniwala.

We had our weekly general assembly in MCO yesterday afternoon. As usual, hindi magkasya ang mga miyembro sa loob ng napaka-liit na tambayan. Nasasayangan ako sa laki ng vertical space. P’wede pa sigurong lagyan ng second floor-kuno kung papayagan ng admin.

In CAST, we were preparing a small exhibit of pictures for our anniversary. We were able to set it up late yesterday afternoon. [Pictures sa Flickr photo set ni C-an].

Since my orgs aren’t participating in this semester’s ACLE (Alternative Class Learning Experience) and since I’m not required to be in any, I’m going to have the afternoon off on Thursday. Off to watch the UP-Ateneo basketball game! I’m excited.
