Eh ba’t kulang ang budget?
I was at LTO (Land Transportation Office) last Monday afternoon to re-apply for a student license (I lost mine). My mom and I got there a little before 1PM. I got my license just before 5PM. Four hours is fine with me really. I just find it absurd that they charge us almost sixty pesos as computer fee. Of the four hours we spent, half the time was spent waiting for our queue number to be called, and the other half was for waiting for my papers to be processed. That’s just wrong. Why should people shoulder some dubious fee and not experience the comfort of having their licenses processed more efficiently by computers. In fact, why do we even have to shoulder such a thing as computer fees, when it’s part of a service the government must provide for free. The same goes for all the other ways various government agencies, including public hospitals and public schools (like UP), are beginning to ask the public, whom they’ve already been taxing, to pay more and more for services they’re supposed to provide as part their responsibility.

How can you expect taxation trickledown to government services when they easily put it back in the economy via non-social-service means (translation: luxury goods)?
wala yan…ako 1 week akong naglakad ng lisensya ko sa LTO main sa east ave. see my series of posts “LTO Drama”. sus maryosep! nakipag-away pa ako sa legal department head nila and sabi ko yung kabalastugan sa LTO would be printed sa media. nawalan na nga lang ako ng lakas na magsulat ng makabagbagdamdaming letter kat tiglao at sa mga dyaryo. hay…
The government supplies nothing for free. They make people py taxes for it. That fee is just another tax. The more areas you tax, the less anyone notices the total bite,
I spent nine hours in the LTO office to get my Non-Professional Driver’s License. Sanayan lang siguro, although I was pretty much pissed when I finally got that tiny piece of plastic.
Congrats nga pala on your 5th year anniv.
Does 60 pesos actually hold any value these days? I doubt it.
I got mine years ago in Cainta, didn’t spend 4 hours though. Probably 2. Then renewed in Marikina and waited for half an hour. It’s become relatively faster these days, IMO.
Dr. Fil
hehe. i got my non prof license in Lucena and it costs us roughly around P800 but ang nakalagay sa receipt is roughly P500. Saan napunta yung P300? And I didn’t have my practical driving exam kahit na handa ako. errr.
Meron din silang typing fee ng mga P30. All she had to do was to type my name, address and OR number.
And I got my card license after 7 months.
anu po ba requirement para student’s permit????
pls reply…..
