I’ve been trying to learn a piano piece as part of my role as a pianist in ES’ and Jerwin’s short film thesis. I’ve had piano lessons back when I was in grade four but I didn’t take them seriously. That was just for a quarter of a school-year. Never continued my lessons since then. And it’s really frustrating that I can’t get the piece right. What’s really pressuring is that the short film will be shot on 35mm film, which I think costs as much 30 pesos per second of footage. Huhuhu, no room for take two’s.

I’ve been seeing more young beggars in UP these days. There was a pair of them standing by the entrance of CASAA who asked for my bread stick when I came out of there yesterday afternoon. Then the day before that, Abby and I were eating our own pieces of bread with Chesa while walking from our Math class when a young kid blocked our path and asked for our bread. We tried to ignore the boy and continued walking but he kept blocking our way! Normally, we we would have given the guy our bread but we were really hungry. He even chased us when we ran off! Sort of annoying, really, but… very sad.

we’re back to 16mm. =)
regarding the kid beggars, they’re everywhere. nakakatakot na minsan kasi to the extent of extortion na yung ginagawa nila. imbis na maawa ka sa kanila, lalo pang hindi mo sila bibigyan. who’s there to blame? you can’t pinpoint it exactly but as much as it’s annoying, it’s really sad.
pero kung sa situation na ako na yung nabastos, minsan talaga nawawala na sa isipan ko yung pagka-’sad’ nung situation.
Hi bikoy! I’ve been reading your blog for a few days now and i’m enjoying your posts. I’m from UP, too. but way before you.
Anyway, it’s sad that there are now young beggars going around UP, and outside CASAA pa! I don’t think i ever saw beggars inside the UP campus while I was there (around early 90s). I hope someone (maybe an org or the UP admin) is doing something about this.
We have a lot of discussions about that sa SocSci3 classes namin. Although sometimes, may point of view din from other sexualities.
Haha.. ang ginagawa ko na lang sa mga batang beggars, ini-ignore. =p hehe… do’n talaga di na sila nangungulit. Hehe…
coolness. star persona ka talaga victor.
what i personally do when beggars block my way:
first, i ignore.
if that doesn’t work, i just say NO.
if that still doesn’t work, I give him/her the evil eye (bloodshot and everything. works everytime!
i enjoy your blog, no wonder it’s up there sa mga blog listings, very fresh and insightful.
oops silly me. mali url ko. anyway, keep it up! the good work on the blog, i mean.
i agree. beggars are annoying. i don’t give any to them at all. don’t judge me as heartless, I give money to every red cross/ tahanang walang hagdanan/ bantay 163 cans that I see. that for me is charity.
Reflection yan ng patuloy na pagkabulok ng lipunan, ng sistemang ginagawalan nating lahat. We are here not only to study the world, but to change it and make this world a happy place for all of us.
Keep going.
