Not just about higher wages
Yes, instead of trooping to the cinemas to see Spider-Man 3 on its first official screening day, I went to Manila, together with some friends from UP and fellow members of Kabataan Party, to join the annual Labor Day celebration and protest of thousands of workers and activists. It was my first May 1 mobilization.
Marching under the scorching heat of the afternoon sun is torture. But all’s well in registration of one’s protest against a system that cares more for its capitalists and investors than and at the expense of its workers.
Siguro naman di ka kasama run sa mga nambugbog (daw) ng pulis.
It is not enough that you protest. After all, it is just a protest. I think the challenge for the youth is to make changes in the system. Start by convincing the youth to vote (I feel that majority of those who will not vote are young voters).
BIKOY: True, no one ever said protests were enough. but for someone like me who won’t be able to vote on May 14, it’s one of the only ways I can register and express my democratic participation. RE: nambugbog daw, here’s an article about it, and here’s the press release of Kabataan Party.

Why won’t you be able to vote?
It is good that you participate in the democratic process in whatever way possible and legal. Keep it up.
And I don’t have any intentions of seeing Spider-man 3. Resist the hype he he. Unless may manlibre. =P

I’m proud that you are very active in this democratic institution, now that this coming election it will pave more opportunities for the youth to penetrate the administrative process and raise street diplomacy into a greater, more feasible level. ^_^

kapag napasama ka na sa workforce, mas maiintindihan mo siguro ang mga sinasabi ng mga kasama at sana ay maging enterpreneur ka rin para maging balanse ang pananaw at hindi magli-lean pakaliwa.
